Republican AIDS Center
On April 8, in collaboration between "Park Bulvar Shopping Mall" and the Republican AIDS Center, a Mobile Voluntary Examination and Counseling Station was set up within the shopping center, where rapid tests were conducted.
Through the provision of this test, which was offered free of charge and with full anonymity, individuals had the opportunity to learn about their status. Additionally, they received comprehensive information regarding the methods of transmission and preventive measures. Under the coordination of the Republican AIDS Center within the Ministry of Health, an awareness campaign was conducted at "Park Bulvar," accompanied by medical examinations. The primary objective of organizing such a social examination is to mitigate the risk of disease transmission within the population, ensure early detection, and provide citizens with information about its prevalence and progression.
The dedicated area established within the shopping center offered accessible and comprehensible general information about Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), both of which represent significant health concerns. Experienced doctors talked about the history, ways of infection, prevention, examination and treatment of the disease and brought their recommendations to attention.
Citizens had the opportunity to get answers to their individual questions. Additionally, they were provided with the option to undergo a free and anonymous express HIV test. Simultaneously, informational brochures and booklets pertaining to HIV/AIDS were distributed, and cautionary information was shared with those who expressed interest. It should be noted that in Azerbaijan, HIV tests are carried out using the latest methods.
